What to do in Barcelona on Halloween? Scary plans.

Autumn is here, and with one of the most sinister and terrifying holidays of the year: Halloween. It's an originally Celtic party, it's very well-known and celebrated especially in America, but if you've come to study in Barcelona, you'll discover that Catalonia celebrates, at the same time, the famous "castanyada" so that two celebrations come together at the same time on the same date.

And since we like to point out all the traditions of our land, the first plan we propose is to gather your classmates in the kitchen of your student residence in Barcelona and cook together the typical “panellets” or cakes of these days. I'm sure you'll have a fun Halloween afternoon.

The second plan for Halloween is to eat the “panellets” that you have cooked all afternoon while watching a scary movie in the comfortable living room of your student residence in Barcelona, where you will feel at home.

But if you're not in the kitchen and there's no one to eat those “panellets”, we suggest you leave your student residence in Barcelona and enjoy a themed dinner on the world of mystery and terror. In Kaizeen Afterwork, in the Poblenouneighbourhood, the show "Cuentos de Halloween" will take place, dinner with a show in which four actresses will perform dramatized readings of classic horror stories.

We suggest you visit the enchanted forest of “Orrius”. This mysterious forest of Barcelona is considered one of the most magical places of our country, with endless legends that speak of covens and seek explanation to its mysterious rocks with animal shapes. One of its legends tells that it was the famous bandit, “Rocaguinarda”, who carved a rock for every death he committed.

Outside the city of Barcelona, no more than an hour away, is the Central Thermal Cercs, and Halloween make a very scary event. It is Horrorland Park, the first Scream Park in southern Europe where fear and horror are its main protagonists, with a large number of attractions totally themed in fear and terror. There is a scary escape room that will make your hair stand on end. The famous Port Aventura amusement park in Tarragona is filled with terror and dark characters on Halloween weekend.

And just an hour by plane from Barcelona, you can fly to Venice and enjoy its famous carnival. We suggest you visit the Ca' Dario building, a gloomy and cursed space, overlooking the Grand Canal of Venice that keeps behind its walls more than one tragic story: all its owners or tenants have died violently or suddenly.
