What it's like to live in a student residence next to the Sagrada Familia

Our student residence is located next to the Sagrada Familia, just about 50 meters away. Seeing this monument every day when you go to your university can make you “normalize” something so extraordinary for the thousands of visitors it receives every day. But yes, living in the Sagrada Familia neighborhood is also living in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Barcelona, ​​the Eixample Dret.

As we said, the Sagrada Familia neighborhood is part of the Eixample district, and more specifically on the right side of the Eixample. This neighborhood is named after Gaudí's most prestigious monument and one of the most visited in Spain, known worldwide.

The neighborhood enjoys green areas and parks for sports or quiet reading, such as the Gaudí park, the Jardins de la Industria or the Jardins d'Antoni Puigvert.

In addition, the neighborhood has several municipal sports centers such as the Center Esportiu Municipal Sagrada Familia and the Municipal Sports Center Jardins de la Indústria.

THE SAGRADA FAMILIA NEIGHBORHOOD

In the epicenter of the neighborhood stands the temple of the Sagrada Familia, the most famous work of the Catalan architect Gaudí. The tempo of the Sagrada Familia, still under construction, is the most important architectural work of Catalan modernism and annually receives no more or less than three million visits! It is the place that attracts the largest number of tourists in Spain.

The Avinguda Gaudí, a walk with some beautiful modernist lampposts, is a path that connects the temple of the Sagrada Familia with another masterpiece of Catalan modernism: the Hospital de Sant Pau.

Both the Sagrada Familia and the Hospital de Sant Pau have been declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

The Hospital de Sant Pau was designed by another famous Catalan architect, Lluís Domènech i Montaner. It is a true work of art of modernism that you should not miss while living in Barcelona. It is also a university hospital of the UAB (Autonomous University) which makes the neighborhood have a lively student life.
