The most sinister places to visit this Halloween

This looong weekend is already here, so most of our students pack their bags and leave the students hall to make the most of this All Saints holidays. However, before leaving, they can not miss a session chestnuts and panellets with our residence students rommies to get ready for the trip, complying with local tradition.

And as we like to join all funny traditions, after the feast we go to the train station or airport willing to know more sinister destinations to celebrate this Halloween. These are our suggestions:

Witchcraft in the Pyrenees

Our first destination is in northern Navarra and certainly sound familiar: Zugarramurdi. And it is that Alex de la Iglesia used it as the setting for his film "The Witches of Zugarramurdi". Zugarramurdi is a small town of just over 200 inhabitants included in the Route of Witchcraft. In the seventeenth century, neither more nor less than forty neighbors of this small town were condemned by the Inquisition to die at the stake for witchcraft. This is the case of witchcraft most famous in our country. The cave where the covens were held, is open until dusk.

Cantabria tenebrous

We're going to Cantabria, particularly to Las Fraguas, in the town of Arenas de Iguña. What's in there? A wonderful palace, the Palacio de Hornillos. And what happened there? In reality we know nothing sinister, but the film change (pun intended) in fiction ....

Death in Venice

This time is the reality that is stranger than fiction. We flew to Venice to visit the Ca 'Dario, a grim and bloody place building. Ca 'Dario is a beautiful building overlooking the Grand Canal of Venice but keeps behind its walls more than a tragic story: all owners or tenants have died violently or suddenly. Anyone is encouraged to spend one night. If you live to tell the tale, share your experience !!

And if this holidays you have no travel budget, do not worry, there are also places near the dorm to spend a dark night ... we propose to visit the enchanted forest of Orrius

This mysterious forest is considered one of the most magical places in our country, with countless legends that speak of covens and seek explanation for their mysterious carved with animal shapes or moai rocks. One legend says it was a famous bandit, Rocaguinarda, who carved a work for every death that he committed.
