Practicing sport in Barcelona

Thousands of students in Barcelona find in the practice of some sport, an escape to the long hours of study and a formula to meet new people in the city.

If you've just moved into your student residence in Barcelona and you're looking for a place to practice your favourite sport in this new year, outside your city, there are plenty of options to keep fit, and Barcelona offers plenty of possibilities, so there's no excuse!

If you're a running enthusiast, Barcelona allows you to practice outdoor sports all year round, but there are also plenty of gyms, swimming pools or sports centres where you can find activities such as traditional Pilates and yoga to balance body and mind, and the most innovative such as zumba or spinning.

If you prefer to practice sports outdoors, and breathe fresh air, the “Ciutadella” Parc or the “Guinardó” Parc, are two good options to do so. In these two green spaces of the city, you will also see people enjoying a bike ride or even skating, not in the same park as the ground is dirt and the skates do not adapt to this type of terrain, but in the case of the “Ciutadella” Parc, just opposite, where it begins a long walk to the Arc de Triomphe, is the meeting place of the skaters of the city.
