How to check if I have passed the Spanish university access (EBAU) and what to do next

Around 300,000 students in Spain presented themselves during the first two weeks of June, depending on their Autonomous Community, to the previously known selectivity, and currently called EBAUor EvAU, the Evaluation of Access to the University, a set of compulsory tests to access the university in Spain and which will determine its future.

The results are made public about two weeks after the test and can be consulted on the official pages of the universities where the tests were taken. Once the result of the test has been verified, you have a few days to take the next step, which is the choice of degree depending on the grade obtained.

If you have passed the EBAU, make the prescription!

If you have passed, and you have chosen a degree, the third step is to make the pre-enrolment and registration; if, on the contrary, you have failed, you can try again or consider other study options outside the university.

It is important for you to know that each autonomous community has its own pre-enrolment calendar, so you should check it so that you don't miss the dates. This calendar and the pre-enrolment process are valid for access to public universities. If you are planning to study at a private university, you will have to go directly to the university you have chosen to be informed of the steps to follow.

When prescribing to the university, it is important that you bear the following in mind:

University pre-enrolment can be done online or in person. You will have to do it through a registration form that you can access on the website of the university portal and in the deadlines set.

Access to pre-enrolment must be done with your DNI and a password, and correctly fill in the form with your personal and academic data and indicate the study options that interest you (which studies you want to take and in which university). All students mark more than one option, in case your grade is not enough to gain access to your first option, the first option includes those university degrees that interest you most, but includes other studies that you also like and that offer you possibilities to gain access to them.

Don't forget to click the submit pre-enrolment button - if you don't submit it, it's as if you hadn't done it!

 There is no need to apply for pre-enrolment per university, as all autonomous communities use a single district. Therefore, all you have to do is fill in a form and include the different studies and university centers that interest you. 

There are some university degrees, generally related to education, sport or languages, which require, in addition to having passed the EBAU, that you have passed a Personal Aptitude Test (PAP).  If this is your case, inform yourself of the calendars for taking the PAPs.

When you finish the pre-enrolment, you will have to wait a few days to know which studies you can access and to know the grades of the different degrees. If you have managed to enter the studies you wanted, the next step will be to register at the chosen university and choose a university residence in Barcelona if you are an international student.
