Ideas to celebrate Sant Jordi 2021
In the last article we published a few days ago, we explained the origin of the celebration of Sant Jordi's day, a day that is full of magic, friendship, and expressions of affection and love.
Last year due to the exceptional situation we are experiencing due to the pandemic, Sant Jordi could not be celebrated as on previous occasions. This year, although we must be respectful and cautious with our activities, we will be able to go out again to admire the colorful streets that flood the city of Barcelona, every April 23rd.
Next, we recommend some of the essential plans that you cannot miss. Attention, because some of them only make sense today, April 23, so you should be reserving a space in your agendas. You will not regret it!
How to celebrate Sant Jordi 2021?
From the most traditional ideas, to some more innovative ones, below, we recommend the activities that you should carry out to live the day to the fullest and enjoy everything special that the date entails:
- Go through the rose stalls that are present in most of the streets of Barcelona, choose the one you like the most and buy a few roses for your beloved ones who want to give a nice token of affection. Ah! Many of the stops have a plus since they give gifts when buying roses.
- Give culture as a gift, buying a book for those people you care about. Other of the great protagonists of the day, are the bookstores that take their positions to the street, to be able to sell their best titles. In addition, many of them do so at special prices, so it is a perfect occasion to give away books or buy that book that has been on your "pending books" list for a long time.
- Try the gastronomy and typical sweets of Sant Jordi. In addition to the typical bread that is prepared for this date, more and more sweets are marketed on this celebration. In addition, many charities and organizations that collaborate with social causes, produce their own gifts and sweets from Sant Jordi, so you can sweeten the day who you love the most, while collaborating with the people who need it most.
- Finally, walk the streets of Barcelona, let yourself be carried away by the magic and colors that flood its streets. A route that we love is the one that begins on the Ramblas and goes up to Passeig de Gràcia, passing by Casa Batlló, which looks more impressive than ever every 23 April. You will love it!
